Innovation, Creativity and Forward Thinking
Alpha-ville is back this Autumn 2012 as an independent cultural platform for Innovation, Creativity and Forward Thinking, celebrating cutting-edge visual and music cultures. Alpha-ville LIVE is the first carefully crafted event and it is dedicated to exploring the interaction between electronic music, visual performances and other cultural practices.
Still from Jeff Desom’s Rear Window Timelapse (2012)Taking place on Saturday 6th October at the iconic Hackney Empire, the unique programme will feature the London premiere of the collaboration betweenMurcof & AntiVJ alongside an intimate live solo by The Field and a full audio-visual experience by Raster Noton’s label co-owner Byetone. The second event will take place at the Hackney Picturehouse on the same day, featuring the latest in moving image including animation, experimental, interactive, video art, documentary and music video.

In 2012, Alpha-ville was the first London organisation appointed to join ICAS, a network of independent non-profit organisations worldwide dedicated to advancing sound, music and related arts. Members of this network include FutureEverything (Manchester), CTM (Berlin), Unsound (Krakow/NY), TodaysArt (The Hague), Cimatics (Brussels), Nemo (Paris) and Mutek (Montreal). Through this network Alpha-ville participates in international debates, develop projects and commission new works.
